Kathleen Pierce is an Academic Associate at Ontario Tech University in the Faculty of Business and IT. She brings expertise in curriculum development, business communications, leadership, and student engagement. She has been teaching at Ontario Tech since 2018 and previously taught at the University of Waterloo.
Kathleen is passionate about experiential learning and enjoys designing creative, hands-on courses that connect classroom concepts to real-world challenges. She is especially interested in collaborative experiences—like the Capstone course—that empower students to lead, communicate effectively, and gain real-world skills they can carry into their careers.
Kathleen’s recent work explores the role of generative AI in education, with a focus on practical, ethical applications that enhance learning while encouraging originality. Kathleen is committed to helping students thrive in an evolving world by fostering inclusive, motivating environments where curiosity and lifelong learning are at the center.
Outside the classroom, Kathleen is a proud mom of two young children who keep her on her toes and inspire her to stay curious, flexible, and full of energy.
