Ontario Tech acknowledges the lands and people of the Mississaugas of Scugog Island First Nation.

We are thankful to be welcome on these lands in friendship. The lands we are situated on are covered by the Williams Treaties and are the traditional territory of the Mississaugas, a branch of the greater Anishinaabeg Nation, including Algonquin, Ojibway, Odawa and Pottawatomi. These lands remain home to many Indigenous nations and peoples.

We acknowledge this land out of respect for the Indigenous nations who have cared for Turtle Island, also called North America, from before the arrival of settler peoples until this day. Most importantly, we acknowledge that the history of these lands has been tainted by poor treatment and a lack of friendship with the First Nations who call them home.

This history is something we are all affected by because we are all treaty people in Canada. We all have a shared history to reflect on, and each of us is affected by this history in different ways. Our past defines our present, but if we move forward as friends and allies, then it does not have to define our future.

Meet the team


Lindsay Marshall


Lindsay is a fourth year student majoring in Human Resources with a minor in Finance. Her interests include travelling, baking, scrapbooking, and learning about ancient civilizations or Greek mythology. If you ever saw her on campus it was likely with a tea in her hand.


Jordyn Mathers


Jordyn is a fourth-year student majoring in Human Resources with a minor in Marketing. She loves spending time with friends and family, going on hikes and exploring, traveling, learning new things, and watching live sports! Jordyn loves her role as a TA for Collaborative Leadership, and working alongside her best friend as Co-President of the HRA! Together Lindsay and Jordyn will also be taking on the ICBC Case Competition finals in January for the HR stream.


Lisa Clark

VP of Marketing 

Lisa is a fourth-year student majoring in OBHR with a minor in operations and supply chain management. She loves watching sports especially hockey and loves to ski! In her free time, you can find her watching Netflix, going on a hike or adventure, or hanging out with friends(pre covid)!


Beenish Fatima

VP of Events

Beenish is a third-year student in the Bachelor of Commerce program, majoring in Accounting and minoring in Technology Management. In her free time, she loves to practice makeup looks on herself or her family and play around with different colors. She also enjoys having good food and watching Netflix after a busy day.


Muhammad Ali

VP of Finance 

Muhammad is a fourth-year student majoring in Accounting. He loves to travel and has been to 36 countries! He is also a foodie and his favourite restaurant is Langdon Hall.


Laura Cox

VP of External Affairs 

Laura is currently in her third year of the transfer program between Durham College and Ontario Tech, majoring in Human Resources. Some of her interests include traveling, playing soccer, watching Netflix, and spending time with friends and family.


Drashti Shah

Case Competition Chair 

Drashti is a third-year student, majoring in Technology Management and minoring in Human Resource Management. In her free time she loves singing, writing and going bowling with friends! She is extremely excited to meet new people at our future in-person and online events. Feel free to reach out to her for any help!  


Susan Ousmand

Case Competition Chair

Susan is in her third year majoring in OBHR and minoring in international business. Besides business, her interests are yoga and skincare. To do with business, her interests are working for a company that operates internationally, which most do.


Kayelle Abajian


Kayelle Abajian is a fourth year student in the Commerce program, majoring in Organizational Behaviour and Human Resources Management. She loves reading, watching tv shows/movies, and playing video games. So far, Among Us has been her top played game this semester (haha).
