Ontario Tech acknowledges the lands and people of the Mississaugas of Scugog Island First Nation.

We are thankful to be welcome on these lands in friendship. The lands we are situated on are covered by the Williams Treaties and are the traditional territory of the Mississaugas, a branch of the greater Anishinaabeg Nation, including Algonquin, Ojibway, Odawa and Pottawatomi. These lands remain home to many Indigenous nations and peoples.

We acknowledge this land out of respect for the Indigenous nations who have cared for Turtle Island, also called North America, from before the arrival of settler peoples until this day. Most importantly, we acknowledge that the history of these lands has been tainted by poor treatment and a lack of friendship with the First Nations who call them home.

This history is something we are all affected by because we are all treaty people in Canada. We all have a shared history to reflect on, and each of us is affected by this history in different ways. Our past defines our present, but if we move forward as friends and allies, then it does not have to define our future.

Graduate Diploma in Accounting

Graduates

Our university’s graduate diploma in Accounting refines the knowledge and competencies from your undergraduate Accounting studies. Your studies will prepare you for the Chartered Professional Accountants (CPA) Professional Education Program (PEP) Capstone Modules 1 and 2 and for the Common Final Examination (CFE).

The program provides the benefit of highly experienced and accomplished faculty who have extensive professional experience and/or teaching experience at all levels of accounting education.

A condensed format and full-time study allow you to complete the program in 14 weeks during the Spring/Summer semester. The program structure results in stronger integrative learning, and a hybrid model provides significant face-to-face learning with qualified faculty.

  • Complete all four PEP electives (Assurance, Tax, Finance and Performance Management) for maximum flexibility in your career choices.
  • Emphasizes integration, problem-solving, decision making and other CPA-enabling competencies to prepare you for the completion of the PEP and CFE.
  • Enhances your marketability when seeking a professional career in accounting. 
  • Successful completion of the program makes you eligible to enter Capstone 1 of PEP.
  • Successful completion of the graduate diploma program will allow you to write the CFE and become a CPA sooner.
