Where is the application link?
The application link will be posted on this page in the months leading up to the beginning of the term start. If the link for the upcoming is not currently available, please check this page at a later date. The link will be removed when TA positions for the term have been filled.

I applied at the above link, when will I hear about a position?
Applications are reviewed by course instructors throughout the hiring period. If selected, you may be contacted up to the start of the term. Please monitor your university email account for updates.
We receive a very high number of applications each term for a limited number of positions.

I am a graduate student with a TAship guarantee (in FBIT), when will I hear about my TA Assignment for next term?
TA Assignments are made and communicated prior to the start of the term, if you have completed the FBIT course preference survey for this term then your assignment is likely pending. Please follow up with FBITGrad@ontariotechu.ca should your availability change.
Feel free to complete the above form to be considered for additional TA opportunities beyond your TA assignment commitment outlined in your funding letter.

How much does the position pay?
Pay rate is determined by the number of hours contracted for the course, and the rate of pay based on education level completed outlined in Appendix A of the TA Collective Agreement above.
Note – degrees must be fully conferred before the next pay rate will apply, see Appendix A in the TA collective agreement.

I am not a student, can I still be a Teaching Assistant?
Non-students (including alumni from Ontario Tech) are considered Pool D and can only be hired should there be no qualified candidates remaining in the previous pools.

This page will be updated with the latest application form as it becomes available from the faculty for the upcoming term. Teaching Assistant hiring follows the directives of the PSAC 555 TA/RA/Invigilator collective agreement and is subject to the pool system therein. Positions are limited, priority is given to qualified current Ontario Tech students based on pool status.

I am first/second year undergraduate student, am I eligible to be a TA?
No, to be considered for a TA position as an undergraduate student you must have already completed 60 credit hours, third/fourth year standing, passed the course you intend to TA for, and no record of academic misconduct. Feel free to apply at a future date when this criteria has been met.
